Trilogy of Swordsmanship, a Chinese martial arts film trilogy directed by Chang Cheh in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The trilogy consists of the films The One-Armed Swordsmen (1967), Return of the One-Armed Swordsmen (1969), and The New One-Armed Swordsman (1971).
The films focus on the character of Fang Kang, a skilled swordsman who loses an arm in a fight against bandits. He struggles to adapt to life as a one-armed warrior but eventually becomes even more deadly with his remaining arm and his impressive sword fighting skills.
The trilogy is known for its intense action sequences, including memorable duels and battles, as well as its themes of honor, loyalty, and revenge. The films also helped to launch the career of actor Jimmy Wang Yu, who played Fang Kang in the first two films before being replaced by David Chiang in the third installment.
